The Artist

Keeping a timeless sound alive, with a fresh twist.

Mr Skylark is a Juju and Gospel artist who loves keeping things authentic. He blends traditional Yoruba rhythms with modern gospel vibes, all brought to life by a full live band. It is all about respecting the roots of the music while keeping the dance floor moving.

Ever since 2015, he's been doing his thing as an independent artist, wrangling bands, running rehearsals, and putting on unforgettable live shows. On top of that, he's been the lead singer for the Promiseland Choir since 2018, where he helps shape the arrangements and mentors his fellow choir members.

Wins African Emerging Juju Music Artist of the Year, 2025

The African Emerging Juju Music Artist of the Year 2025 at the prestigious Yessiey Awards was awarded to Nigerian Juju musician, Otolorin Oluwasegun Michael, also known as Mr. Skylark, due to his increased contribution to the preservation and promotion of one of the most celebrated music genres in Africa.
